EBT strikes gold(s)!
While the Commonwealth Games in Delhi have been courting all sorts of negative headlines, across the border in Nepal there have been some major sporting successes for the EBT children.
Seven of the children at the Godawari refuge (the majority of whom are circus returnees) have been starring in the national gymnastics championships over the weekend.
The team comprised Aman Tamang who won an unbelievable seven medals, including four golds; Lalita Rai who won a silver and two bronze; Rachana Lama and Bijay Limbu who won a bronze medal each; and Mohan Nepali, Meena Lama and Shital Syangtan.
The team's success has come about thanks to the morning training sessions the children attend at the National Stadium in Kathmandu before school each day. It has been reported in the weekend sports sections of the national papers in Nepal:
