If you are prepared to consider becoming a general sponsor (£25 per month) to one of these children, please contact Lois Clarkson on 020 7600 5654 to arrange your formal invitation.
With the arrival of these 11 children, we now provide full-time, long-term residential refuge to over 140 children across three locations in Nepal.
We could do with a helping hand to meet the cost of providing a child with everything they need: accommodation, clothes, food, education, tuition and access to a range of stimulating social activities.
These are real costs - when you sponsor a child with us, you sponsor that child. We have tried to break down these costs into categories to suit a range of budgets:
General Sponsorship - £25 per month
(accommodation, food, clothes, local care staff wages)
Education Sponsorship - £15 per month
(school uniforms, school books, stationery, private tuition, exam fees)
Recreation Sponsorship - £5 per month
(music tuition, karate lessons, gymnastics clubs, a trip to Kathmandu Zoo...)
You can of course choose to meet the full needs of one child for £45 per month.

Our residential refuge facility in Hetauda is now home to a further 11 vulnerable children whose desperate circumstances had left them in need of our support.
These children have endured dramatically different experiences that collectively serve to demonstrate the problems faced by impoverished families across Nepal: the mother of two of the girls rescued was struck and killed by lightning, leaving their sick and unemployed father to care for them; one boy was forced to work as a dishwasher in a local restaurant in return for 'free' alcohol for his alcoholic stepfather, and another three siblings were abandoned by their mother when she remarried - she left them with their frail grandparents who are too infirm to look after their own needs, let alone those of three young children.
While it is early days, we will endeavour to develop individual care plans that will help these children to enjoy a safe and secure childhood and access to education.
