"Reaching Everest Base Camp was an amazing experience. But the most heart-warming feeling was knowing that every high
altitude breath and aching step would help EBT to do even more for the children in their care. That's got to be one of the best
experiences ever"
(Angela Sherman, 2005)
As home to the Sherpas and the site of Mount Everest, Lhotse and Cho Oyu - three of the world's seven
highest mountains - the Khumbu region of Nepal is unquestionably the most popular place for trekking
in the Himalayas.
While most of us can only dream of summiting this mighty mountain, our stunning trek allows you to
become seduced by the myths and excitement of Mount Everest and the dynamic region of the Sherpa people.
You will have the opportunity to explore its lower majesty and witness ancient Tibetan Buddhism.
Your guides will help you to understand the awe-inspiring environment.
This will be a journey to sacred regions, offering a lifetime of impressions and reflections.
Most days are nothing short of breathtaking while you walk amidst the Himalayan giants to the
jingle of yak bells.
Trekking is perfectly safe with our experienced guides and anyone of moderate fitness who prepares with
a little pre-trip training can manage the route with ease. In the mountain villages you can expect
the ready smiles and natural hospitality for which the hardy locals are rightly famed.
The trip lasts 19 days in total, departing the 20th November and
returning 8th December 2008. Three nights will be spent in the Summit
Hotel in Kathmandu and the remaining nights camping in remarkable
comfort under the stars!
